Kursusdatoer12 - 16 August 2013

Kursus resuméProtein-protein interactions are becoming increasingly important as people realize that proteins are rather working in a network than alone. Unraveling and dissecting these networks requires interdisciplinary approaches, ranging from biochemistry, biophysics to bioinformatics.

- protein network analysis
- coordination of regulatory and metabolic cell function
- phosphoproteomic analysis

Undervisningsform
The course will feature a combination of lectures, tutorials, panel discussions, laboratory and computer exercises, participant presentations, report writing and networking.

Målbeskrivelse
Two international leading scientists in related areas within the field of PPI research are the core lecturers at the course.

Professor Igor Stagljar from University of Toronto has developed 2nd and 3rd generation of the yeast -2-hybrid technology that is one of the methods to study protein-protein interactions. Moreover, he is co-founder Dualsystems company that sells the toolkit for doing yeast -2-hybrid experiments. His expertise in this field is reflected in a wide range of publications and reviews describing the application of this technology. Professor Stagljar will be responsible for lectures, tutorials and lab exercises related to methods for protein-protein interactomics.

Professor Sacha Baginsky from University of Halle is a proteomics expert with a strong track record in particular phosphoproteomics. He is co-developer of phoshoproteomics databases, and will be responsible for training the students in datamining and evaluating data from current databases through lectures, tutorials and computer exercises.

Kursusmateriale
