Kursus resuméThis four day course will give a general introduction to chemometrics and provide valuable tools for food scientists to analyze their own multivariate data, which is often derived from complex datasets. The participants will learn how to use basic chemometric techniques and to interpret the results and how the model can be used in future studies.

Kursusindhold
-Exploratory data analysis by Principal Component Analysis
- Regression models by Partial Leas Squeres Regression
- Data treatment: outlier detection, validation, variable selection and pre-processing
- Classification by Partial Leas Squeres Discriminant Analysis
-Examples from food related research
 
Undervisningsform
Four days of intensive lectures including examples from FOOD research. Independent work on personal assignment using the tools learned during the lectures.
 
Målbeskrivelse
After this course participants will:
- be able to use basic chemometric techniques
-intepret the results obtained from chemometric analysis
- use the chemometric tools in their own future studies

There is no course fee for PhD students from Danish Universities.
 
Kursus omkostninger
There is no tuition fee for PhD students from Danish Universities, but a material cost fee: Max. DKK 725 for members of FOOD Denmark and VLAG, DKK 1950 for other PhD students, DKK 3975 for other participants from LMC members, DKK 7950 for other participants. For participants from industry the course can be approved without assignment for 2 ECTS with reduced costs.
