Organisation of Teaching5 days with lectures, student presentations and evaluation (37 hours). Pre-course work includes reading and preparation of presentations (38 hours).

Teaching and learning Methods
Teaching will be in the form of lectures, student presentations, seminar discussions and individual work.
 
Learning Outcome
The aim is to give the students knowledge about available methodologies, their strengths and limitations, and pitfalls within the research area of energy balance, and to provide students with current information on factors that influence energy balance.

Competences achieved: After attending this course, the PhD student will:

- know the strengths and weaknesses of the methodologies of energy balance research

- be able to evaluate study design within the energy balance research area

- be aware of the current research on factors that influence energy balance

Course Fee
No fee for PhD students under the Open Market in Denmark and NOVA-partners. Other participants are to pay a course fee of 800 EUR. All participants have to pay 80 EUR for course costs.

All participants will have to pay 80 EUR for course material.
 
Type of Evaluation
Presentations of PhD project, participation in group discussions and evaluation of scientific input in plenum.
 
Other Remarks
A minimum of 10 participants will be required to run the course.
