Basic Science: none Applied Science: Knowledge of organic production practices in DK and internationally. Understanding of the ecological mechanisms and their technical applications employed in crop and soil management. Comprehension of differences in the environmental impacts of farming systems. Can apply ecological principles to problems in fertilization and pest and weed management. Ethics and values: Knowledge of the values and principles behind the organic practice. Understanding of the role of organic standards as an external condition for organic food production. Reflection on own learning. | |||||||||||||||||
Kursets målsætning | |||||||||||||||||
The basic aim of the course is to give students an understanding of the principles and practice of ecological agriculture, as well as competencies to critically contribute in the development of more sustainable farming systems. | |||||||||||||||||

-The conditions for ecological agriculture in Denmark, Europe and overseas -Principles and practise of cropping system design -Crop management, including fertilization, pest management and technological aspects of ecological agriculture - Role and function of biodiversity in organic farming - Environmental impacts of ecological agriculture | |||||||||||||||||
