| The objective is to give students theoretical basis for the practical clinical pharmacology. Lectures will include presentation of selections of drugs that are commonly used in the veterinary clinic. This helps the student to obtain an overview of different groups of drugs. | |||||||||||||
| Kursusindhold | |||||||||||||
| During the course problems in the form of short case-stories will be solved in groups. The student is expected to give an oral presentation of a subject chosen by the student, in consultation with the tutor. Tutorials in general pharmacology include * Pharmacokinetic and dosing of drugs * Regulatory authority requirements for clinical testing of new veterinary drugs * Drug residues establishment of withdrawal periods. Examples of subjects for tutorial based on clinical case-stories are * Drug working on digestives system and metabolism * Fluid- and electrolyte-therapy * Drug working on heart and circulatory system * Antibiotics and chemotherapeutics * Anti-inflammatory drugs * Hypnotics, sedatives and anasthetics * Anthelmentics and ectoparasiticides * Sex hormones * Dermatological drugs * Ophthalmic drugs * Analgesics | |||||||||||||
