The objective of the course is to enable students to provide decision support on selection and operation of agricultural machinery including factors as soil type and soil workability, crop composition, value and losses, climate conditions, indirect costs, labour availability, essential environmental effects. | |||||||||||||||
Kursusindhold | |||||||||||||||
The course subjects are: Main principles of farm management, Measurement, modelling and calculation of machinery performance, machinery harmonisation and machinery costs, including indirect costs associated with untimely operations and others. Modelling and calculation of costs and benefits of precision farming. Principles of machinery cost control, machinery replacement, multi-farm use of machinery, machinery selection and machinery operation planning. The knowledge achieved during the course would be particular useful to people, who are interested in jobs within or related to development, marketing, sale and extension related to agricultural machinery and equipment. The course is part of the NOVA semester package Technology for Crop Production and provides the core of a specialisation within crop production technology. | |||||||||||||||
Undervisningsform | |||||||||||||||
Theories and methodologies are outlined briefly during lectures and practised during project work in collaboration with farmers, companies, contractors or similar. The project work is carried out by groups of 2 students. | |||||||||||||||
